Behind the Wire Exhibition


Behind the Wire, is an exhibition about Vietnam Veterans, their jobs and their experiences, in their words.

The exhibition has portraits of veterans together with text boards where they share their story. There are also two digital displays. One has veterans relating their experiences with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and the other shows many photographs taken by the vets during their tour of duty in Vietnam.

ANZAC Centenary events will embrace the themes: 'Commemorate, Contemplate and Educate'.

Eight hundred and forty-nine is the number of servicemen who lived in the greater Fremantle area, embarked in Fremantle on transport ships that would take them to far away fields, and they are the ones that never returned.
