RSL WA, McDonald’s Community Cinemas (formerly Movies by Burswood) and Universal Pictures are thrilled to announce the WA Premiere of one of 2014’s most anticipated films, THE WATER DIVINER, on Wednesday December 3 at Grand Cinemas Warwick.
All partners are working together to help raise community awareness of the 100th commemoration of ANZAC Day at Gallipoli through this exclusive RSL WA charity Premiere.
"It’s a wonderful example of the cinema industry coming together to commemorate a singular event of real importance to all Australians. McDonald’s Community Cinemas is privileged to be a part of this special night." Ken Gibbons, Founder and Director of McDonald’s Community Cinemas.
Graham Edwards AM, State President of the Returned & Services League said "It's a brilliant opportunity for Western Australians to preview a great movie and to understand the enormous impact of Gallipoli on the families of diggers who landed there in 1915 as many came from WA. The Returned & Services League of WA is privileged to partner and support this event."
Starring Russell Crowe (GLADIATOR, A BEAUTIFUL MIND) and Olga Kurylenko (OBLIVION, QUANTUM OF SOLACE), THE WATER DIVINER is an epic adventure set four years after the devastating battle of Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. Australian farmer Connor (Crowe) travels to Istanbul to discover the fate of his sons, reported missing in the action. With the help of a Turkish Officer, Connor embarks on a journey across the country to find the truth about the fate of his sons.
"Russell Crowe's depiction of Connor in The Water Diviner is a must-see on the eve of the ANZAC Centenary in 2015." Graham Edwards.
